Cruises in Tarragona

Tarragona is the only Catalan city that has been declared a World Heritage Site and has received this distinction three times from Unesco: for its Roman legacy, for its castells (human towers) and for its Mediterranean gastronomy (blue fish).

It is an attractive city for its history and its cultural and sporting activities. The castells and the major festivals attract citizens and tourists who visit us, and Tarragona has been recognised as one of the 50 best places to visit in 2023 by the New York Times.

Our city, open on the Mediterranean, is consolidated as a natural destination with Tamarit and its 15 km of coastline that give rise to its beaches of fine golden sand and crystalclear water where its paths, beaches and green spaces make up an ideal environment in which to enjoy a dream day with the family.

The Mediterranean city of history

To these attractions, we can add a great eno-gastronomic potential; let's combine a unique sauce such as romesco with our Mediterranean gastronomy and accompany it with an excellent glass of white Macabeu wine, Tarragona DO, which could well be tasted in the Serrallo, our typical fishermen's quarter.

If for the historian and poet Lucius Annaeus Florus, Tarraco was the city of eternal spring, today, for our cruise passengers, Tarragona is the Mediterranean city of history. In Tarragona, history emerges from the stones, from the books and comes to life next to the Mare Nostrum. Visit Tarragona, a city born of the Mediterranean and its port, you will discover your history!

Practical information for passengers embarking on a cruise to the Port of Tarragona

To access the quay, you can take a taxi or a bus. Access to the Port of Tarragona in a private vehicle is not permitted.

To take the bus, dedicated to transferring passengers to the terminal, you must go to the outdoor car park at Moll de Costa 7. From there, a bus will be available to take you to the cruise ship (during the embarkation time slot provided by the cruise company) located at Moll de Balears. The bus ride to the cruise terminal takes 10 minutes. We recommend that you arrive in plenty of time.

A bus will take you into the city and drop you off on Via Augusta, in front of the Reconciliació Park. This is the same point from where you can take the bus when you want to return to the cruise ship.
