The REC film festival brings new film talent to Tarragona
REC is a national and international showcase for fiction and documentary feature films. It's a great opportunity to get to know new directors and rediscover well-known directors through their debut films.
Enjoy award-winning premiere films from the top international festivals, discover new directors, new films, captivating moments and much more.
The REC is a festival focused on presenting and promoting new talent, bringing debut creators together with the public, and giving visibility to current trends in the audiovisual world. It’s also the only Spanish festival dedicated exclusively to the Opera Prima International Competition, which also offers concurrent complementary events and professional activities.
The festival, which promotes new creations and emerging talent, has been held in the Mediterranean city of Tarragona (recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site) since the start of the century.
Through the Opera Prima International Competition, which showcases debut works by up-and-coming artists and offers a range of parallel activities, it is an annual showcase for contemporary cinematic forms.
2024: December is REC month in Tarragona
REC combines five days of intensive film-making activities and discovering new talent from around the world in Tarragona at the Teatre Tarragona, the Antiga Audiència and the Teatret del Serrallo.
